Preliminary Task: Final Piece

Here is the completed piece for our preliminary task:

Overall, the shots match effectively with that of the actual music video. We were able to find the right positions for each shot and keep to a good schedule. We tried to film each shot for a little longer than it was supposed to be, just so that we were definitely not going to have time to spare when editing. This was a good tactic that I have decided would be important to do when filming our final piece.

Furthermore, we decided based on the outcome of the Preliminary, that filming on a phone is significantly less effective and the quality did not turn out to the standard we thought it would. Therefore, in our final piece, we will be sure to use a camera of better quality, which may be provided by the school, or I can use one from home.

The editing seemed to work well, however, since each member of the group had different roles, we decided to rethink these in the final piece. In the project we produced last year, I had been in charge of editing, and had found it more comfortable than editing, but for the Preliminary I had been in charge of filming. This was not my strong area: I found myself unable to match the shots effectively and wasn't steady with the camera. Therefore, in the Final Piece, I have decided to be in charge of editing and allow those with a stronger flair for filming take my role.
