Artist Focus: Imagine Dragons
Imagine Dragons are an American, Indie-Alternative band, who's lyrics infamously tell stories and portray morals. Their music videos, in most cases, follow that of their Narrative style videos. The group debuted with their album Night Visions, which included the songs Radioactive and On Top Of The World. They then released an album titled Smoke and Mirrors and, a year later, Evolve. Here is a slideshow presenting each cover art for their albums. As you may see, they follow a very similar theme and represent very unnatural things. The colours are bright and aesthetic, and there is usually a person on their own, which could be a reflection of the music they create or the personal feelings of the group.
Each album brings a different style and arguably attracts a different niche. For example, Night Visions brought a more Indie style, whereas Smoke and Mirrors attracted an audience that preferred heavier music. This meant that the group could create a wider audience and attract a number of people regardless of what music style they explore.
The group have infamously produced a number of songs for movies and TV shows, such as "Ready, Aim, Fire" for Iron Man 3, "Who we Are" for the Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and "Battle Cry" for Transformers: Age of Extinction. These songs can be listened to by clicking their names. They keep to a heavier and more lyrically dominant style that appeals to the generic idea of an OST.
They have won a number of awards for their music including 5 Billboard Music Awards and 1 Grammy award. Here is a video of their acceptance speech from the AMA awards in 2013.
