Digipak Analysis: ACDC

BLACK ICE - ACDC

This Digipak follows a very specific style to the band, with the fonts and colours being representative of the artist themselves. The black and metallic-style texturing could symbolise the band's loud and heavy Metallic genre. The fact that the main focus of the Digipak is the artist's name could symbolise the importance of their music and popularity, and that it should be more valued than anything else.

The inside of the Digipak is almost identical to the exterior, except from the red font. It keeps to the dark theme but is creative in a subtle sense; the hidden, grey art is only really visible in particular light, which for some is more appealing and aesthetic than using a more obvious colour such as white. The CD clearly shows the artist's name, and the font and dark colour make it easily recognisable for consumers and fans of the band.

The insert includes exclusive photos of the band members, which could link into the idea of popularity and the band themselves being more focused on than the music they make. This can be seen in many bands with a large audience and fanbase. The colours are brighter and more obvious than the rest of the Digipak, but the red seen on the Digipak cover is clearly evident in each photograph. The use of bright colours allows the audience to see the photos more clearly and easily, which could suggest that it is the most important part of the Digipak.
