Genre Focus: Electropop
Since our chosen artist is titled under this genre, we decided to look further into it to get a good idea of what our audience would like from us.
Electropop is a new genre of music that includes a number of electronic instruments such as a Synthesiser and Drum Machine. These are usually used alongside strong vocals that are either natural or auto-tuned. A few examples of Electropop Artists are:

Cassius: I Love U So
This music video incorporates continuous lyrics that do not differ in any way, along with a heavy beat and a high-pitched, attuned voice. This style differs quite significantly from Halsey's, therefore I feel there is little we can take from this video to link into our own. Our song of choice also doesn't hold any comparable qualities with this.
Calvin Harris: Blame
This video incorporates similar shots and slow-motion editing to Halsey's videos, but the song itself has too much instrumental and heavy electric style to match Halsey's style. The slow motion can be used in our own music video, as it creates suspense and tension, as well as giving the audience a more entertaining and impressive view of something.
Lilly Wood & The Prick and Robin Schulz: Prayer In C
This music video includes a number of Close-Up shots, which would very significantly appeal to Halsey's audience, as it is obviously seen in a number of her music videos. It also includes slow motion to create interest. Again, it uses continuous lyrics, which makes it very different from Halsey's use of lyrics, which is more personal and advanced. However, this will not affect the use of shots within this music video.
