Halsey / Lana Del Rey: Comparison

In order to get a good idea of how compatible these two artists are in terms of style and genre, I decided to play Halsey's music over three of Lana Del Rey's music videos, in order to see how well the music and the videos work together. Here are the three videos I have decided to overlay:

- Love

- Young and Beautiful

- Summertime Sadness

Overall, I found it very easy to piece together the music and the visuals of the two artists. Despite the difference in mouthing the lyrics, all three videos could easily pass as being the official one. However, I think the third video, Summertime Sadness, fitted the best. It had the mystery and narrative that Halsey is famous for, and links more closely to Halsey's lyrics.

We will use this composition to analyse our shots and compare them with those found in Lana Del Rey's videos, in order to analyse how effective our video could be, and if it would fit and flow better than hers on top of Halsey's music.
