Audience Feedback: Creating a Survey

In order to allow for the most accurate and varying decision for our artist name, we decided to create a survey and ask a number of people what they thought. We decided to target people the same age as us, in order to reach Halsey's average audience age of 16-20. We wanted to learn a little about the respondent first, therefore decided to compose three questions that would allow us an insight into what people think of an artist's name and how much they value it. Here are the first three questions we composed:

1. Of these music artists which are your favourites?

- Halsey

- Lady Gaga

–Sia

–Tove Lo

–Lana Del Rey

–Lorde

2. How important is an artist's name to you?

3. What should an artist's name represent?

- Them as a person

–Their music

We then decided to ask the respondents to choose their 3 favourite names, based on the initial list we created. We felt that asking for 3 would allow us more flexibility, and would let us see which names are more popular than others. We will then decide to narrow down the list and get a few more responses in regard to the three most popular names.

We have decided to do our survey on SurveyMonkey, as we felt it had the easiest interface, and we were able to quickly and efficiently share the link around to the Sixth Form.
